Location: Breckland, England

Explore the quiet beauty of Breckland on this predominantly flat, 16.7km paved route. Starting at Abbey Meadows, you'll follow the serene Little Ouse Path, passing Croxton Stanch and looping around the railway line towards Santon Downham Stanch, before rejoining the river path for your return. The low 10m ascent makes for a very gentle journey.

This route is ideal for runners seeking a consistent, easily accessible training run on predictable surfaces, or those simply wishing to appreciate the peaceful, open landscapes of the Breckland area. Its entirely paved nature ensures convenient running in most weather conditions, perfect for steady-state efforts or a smooth, scenic outing.

Shoe suggestion: Trail

I may be harsh giving only 3 stars. I dropped one because the trail for the first and last 5km is shared with dirt bikes, so a bit unrelaxing at times. The loop around Santon is great, and if you're based from Thetford, and go early morning, would probably be fine. Trail shoes probably best but nothing extreme so road shoes would suffice.
