Black Knowl and Hursthill Inclosure

Discover the tranquil beauty surrounding Brockenhurst with this 8.8km route, gently heading north through the New Forest. Starting across the open heathland of Black Knowl on grassy paths and some gravel, the run soon transitions into the sheltered woodlands of Hursthill Inclosure. Here, compacted dirt tracks wind through dense trees, offering a peaceful, scenic experience with occasional roots and muddier sections for a touch of technical interest.

Continue on easy gravel tracks towards Ober Corner and through the similar mixed terrain of Aldridgehill Inclosure, before re-emerging onto open heathland. With minimal ascent and largely natural surfaces, this gentle route is ideal for relaxed training runs, enjoying nature, or a refreshing escape from urban roads.
