This is a very nice loop on quiet lanes and along the river Lune. The tracks it uses from Whittington to the river are the best of the 3 available and not prone to constant flooding like the other two.It also avoids overgrown vegetation with only around 100m of path that is constricted in mid summer. The route is generally cow free apart from a small herd of (generally very passive) milking cows in the last field before the A65 bridge
