Explore the Corwen, Cynwyd and Liberty Hall

Location: Corwen, Wales

Explore the challenging uplands around Corwen on this demanding 14.5km route, predominantly on natural, sometimes muddy, paths. Ascend past the Pen Y Pigyn viewpoint and tackle steep sections towards the evocative ruins of Liberty Hall, a historic hunting lodge. The journey continues with invigorating climbs to Pen Creigiau'r Barcyn (553m) before a sharp descent leads to scenic forest trails.

This route is ideal for runners seeking a serious hill challenge and a true taste of Welsh wilderness. While the final section along the old railway path offers a welcome flat stretch into Cynwyd and back to Corwen, the significant ascent and varied terrain make it perfect for experienced trail runners, those training for mountain races, or anyone looking for a truly testing yet rewarding run amidst stunning landscapes.
