Explore the Long Mynd with Pole Bank
Location: Church Stretton, Shropshire
A continuous circular trail run across the high moorland of the Long Mynd above Church Stretton, taking in the windswept crest near Pole Bank. Ground underfoot is almost entirely off-road, following open grassy paths, sheep trods, and hill tracks across the plateau, with only brief paved connections on quiet lanes near the valley edge.
Roughly 425 metres of climbing is spread around the circuit, keeping the legs working across undulating high ground, while the descent is concentrated into a steep plunge off the ridge. The higher ground is fully exposed to the elements, contrasting with the more sheltered tracks cut into the valley flanks below. A rugged upland loop with classic Shropshire fell character.
