Explore the Derwentwater Skyline
Location: Keswick, Cumberland
This skyline route takes in the peaks surrounded Derwentwater. It's a challenging circuit, starting in Keswick, with a significant amount of climbing - around 1600 metres of ascent spread evenly throughout the just over 30 km loop. The ground is almost entirely off-road, with only short paved sections, making for a proper trail run through the Lake District fells.
Starting from Keswick, the route quickly heads out into the hills, skirting the western edge of Derwent Water before climbing towards Grange and Rosthwaite. Expect sustained climbs and descents on rough fell paths and tracks, with the highest point reaching around 650 metres. The climbing is distributed across the whole circuit, ensuring a demanding run from start to finish.
The loop eventually brings you back towards Keswick after a a big day out on the fells!
