Durham River and City — 10.5 km Running Route

This roughly 10 km loop around Durham offers a mix of riverside running and roads, with around 110 metres of climbing. The circuit is a mix of paved and off-road, leaning towards paved surfaces for roughly two-thirds of the distance.

The River Wear is a companion for a good part of the loop, with sections running alongside the river itself. Climbing is concentrated in one part of the circuit, with a single climb of about 60 metres, while descents are spread more evenly throughout. You'll find yourself on the Weardale Way for a stretch, and Dragon Lane also features.
