Explore the Aberdeen Esplanade and Urban 7
Location: Castlehill and Pittodrie, Scotland
A 7 km circular route taking in Aberdeen's North Sea seafront and historic pockets of Old Aberdeen. Ground underfoot is mostly paved footpaths and quiet roads, with only occasional short off-road sections. Elevation change is negligible across the circuit, with barely 30 metres of gentle rise and fall spread around the loop.
The seaward side follows the open esplanade, exposed to the coastal breeze with Kings Links stretching out alongside. Turning inland, the circuit threads past Seaton and down Old Aberdeen's historic High Street, coming close to the River Don at its northern edge and skirting past Broad Hill.
A straightforward, honest urban and coastal circuit that contrasts wide marine views with historic granite streets.
