The run combines forest tracks, lakeside paths and quiet trails through Kielder Forest. The course is predominantly off-road, with a mixture of firm tracks and more natural surfaces underfoot. The route follows the shoreline for much of its distance, with sections through woodland and open forest creating plenty of variety. Expect a gently undulating profile with regular climbs and descents, making this a scenic but demanding marathon that rewards steady pacing over the full distance.
