5K running routes by town
Browse every 5 kilometre route we have in your town, with maps, elevation and free GPX downloads.
What makes a good 5K route?
Five kilometres is the distance most runners come back to week after week: long enough to feel like a proper run, short enough to fit into a lunch break. Every route on this page measures between 4.8 km and 5.2 km, so it is close enough to 5K for parkrun-pace training, a time trial, or a steady jog.
Where we can, we favour 5K loops — routes that start and finish in the same place, so you can park once, run a full circuit and never retrace your steps. Each route card shows the total ascent and how much of the surface is paved, so you can pick a flat, surfaced loop for an easy jog or a hillier trail circuit when you want to work harder.
Everything is free. Open a route for its map and elevation profile, download the GPX for your watch, or follow it turn by turn in the Skamper app.
5K running routes near me — common questions
- How do I find 5K running routes near me?
- Allow location access and this page sorts every 5 kilometre route by how far it is from you, nearest first. You can also pick your town from the list above to see all the 5K routes in that area.
- Are there running routes near me with a 5K loop?
- Yes — many of the routes here are loops that begin and end in the same spot, which makes them ideal when you are driving to the start or running from home.
- Are the routes exactly 5 kilometres?
- They sit between 4.8 km and 5.2 km. That band keeps every route honest as a 5K without excluding good circuits that come in a little over or under.
- Can I use these as jogging routes?
- Of course. Filter for low ascent and a high paved percentage and you will find flat, easy 5K jogging routes suitable for walking too.
- Do the 5K routes cost anything?
- No. Every route, map, elevation profile and GPX download on Skamper is free.
