Explore the Central London Road Circuit 6
Location: London, England
This is a loop of just under 7 km entirely on central London pavements. As a pure road route, it's a practical option for a training run if you are staying or working in the area. Because it's a single loop, you can join it at any point. Given it follows main roads, be ready for frequent stops at crossings and to navigate around pedestrians, especially during peak hours. This makes it less suitable for a steady tempo effort.
The surface is 100% paved, so road shoes are the obvious choice and the footing is reliable in all weathers. While the elevation profile is not demanding, it isn't completely flat. The 67 metres of total ascent comes from a series of gentle gradients as you cross bridges or go through underpasses, rather than any single, sustained climb. It’s best described as gently rolling terrain that will keep the legs working.
This is a run defined by its urban surroundings. You will be alongside busy roads for the duration, with the constant background noise of traffic. It is not a quiet route; it is a run that uses the fabric of the city itself as its course. Expect to see very little green space, so it's best viewed as a functional circuit for when you need to get the mileage in on a predictable, hard surface.
