Huntress Leeds

This is a 5.0 km lollipop-shaped route through central Leeds, starting and finishing at Broad Gate. Being 100% paved, it’s a straightforward road shoe run with no technical sections. The total ascent is just 22 metres, which you’ll barely register; it’s a flat course, useful for a tempo run or if you need a measured 5K without having to think about hills. As it’s a city centre route, expect to navigate pedestrians and potentially wait at road crossings, especially along Vicar Lane.

From the start, you’ll head down towards the River Aire, crossing it to get to the main loop section of the run. This part takes you around Leeds Dock. The environment shifts here from standard city streets to a more open, waterfront area with modern buildings. The paths around the dock are well-maintained, giving you reliably firm footing throughout. This loop is the main objective before you turn to head back.

Once you complete the circuit of the dock, the return is simply a case of retracing your steps. You'll run back over the river and up the same stretch of road you came down to finish back at Broad Gate. It’s a convenient and predictable city run, good for when you need a measured distance on solid ground without leaving the centre. The route’s urban nature means it’s always accessible, but don't expect a quiet one.
