Experience the rugged beauty of Jersey’s southwest coast on this 7.4km scenic run from Beauport to the iconic La Corbière Lighthouse. This route offers a moderate challenge with 107m of ascent, blending paved sections with breathtaking cliff-side views. Starting from the Beauport car park, you'll navigate a mix of coastal paths and quiet roads, including a dedicated out-and-back stretch along Chemin de la Corbière. The return leg utilizes the Corbière Railway Walk—a flat, leaf-dappled trail on a converted rail line—making it a favorite for local runners looking to find their rhythm after the initial hilly coastal terrain.
La Corbière is a place of dramatic maritime history, guarded by one of the most photographed lighthouses in the British Isles. Built in 1874 on a tidal island, the lighthouse serves as a stark reminder of the Channel Islands' powerful Atlantic swells. As you run through the Paroisse de Saint-Brelade, you’ll pass through areas of rich ecological significance, including the coastal heathlands of Le Clos Orange. Keep an eye out for the historic German naval signals tower (MP3) looming over the headland, a relic of the Island's occupation during WWII that now serves as a unique landmark for navigating this stunning corner of Jersey.
