Rydal - Loughrigg

This anticlockwise loop from Rydal offers a mix of runnable trails and steeper climbs, starting with a steady ascent past Rydal Caves on well-trodden paths. The route becomes more challenging as it climbs on grassy paths towards Loughrigg Summit, where panoramic views over Grasmere and Windermere provide a rewarding pause. There is an untimed section at the summit so you can enjoy the views without time penalty. The descent follows a well-defined path to the southeast, offering a mix of rocky and grassy terrain. The final stretch along Under Loughrigg Lane gives a fairly flat run back to Rydal.
