This 10.3km loop through South Lakeland offers a quintessential fell running experience, characterized by a challenging "SL" (Short Large) grade and a significant 322m ascent. Starting with a demanding climb that will immediately test your lungs, the route transitions into a technical but rewarding traverse across the Hutton Roof Crags. Runners will navigate a diverse mix of sheltered woodland trails before emerging onto the exposed limestone pavements of Newbiggin Crags and Farleton Knott. The terrain is a fascinating mix of sprintable short-cropped grass and grippy limestone, requiring nimble footwork and focused attention, especially when wet.
