You’ll wind anticlockwise through the tranquil Box Hill Village and the dense canopy of Cherkley Wood before reaching the high points near Lodge Hill, where the expansive views of the Surrey Hills provide a rewarding backdrop for your efforts.
The Mole Valley area is steeped in endurance sports history, famously serving as the centerpiece for the 2012 Olympic road cycling races. As you run past the Zig Zag Road and through the National Trust-managed estates, you are traversing a landscape that has inspired naturalists and writers for centuries. The chalk downland habitat is home to rare orchids and butterflies, offering a sense of wilderness just an hour from London.
