Steeped in industrial heritage, this section of the Bridgewater Canal—often called the "Dukes Canal"—was the first man-made waterway in England to be built without following an existing river. As you run past converted Victorian warehouses and modern residential developments, you are retracing the historic coal routes that once fueled the Manchester Industrial Revolution.
