This 5.6km double loop at Brockwell Park offers a refreshing escape through one of South London's most beloved green spaces. The route is entirely paved, making it an excellent choice for runners seeking a consistent rhythm and dependable footing regardless of the weather. With a modest ascent of just 22 meters, the course is largely flat and accessible, yet the gentle undulations keep the legs engaged. Runners will enjoy two clockwise laps, providing a great opportunity to practice pacing or interval work while soaking in the expansive views of the London skyline and the park's vibrant, tree-lined landscape.
Steeped in history, Brockwell Park was formerly the private estate of glass merchant John Blades and was opened to the public in 1892. As you navigate the loops, you'll pass the iconic Grade II listed Brockwell Lido and the charming 19th-century Brockwell Hall sitting atop the hill. The park serves as a vital community hub between Brixton, Dulwich, and Herne Hill, often buzzing with locals and fellow members of the vibrant South London running scene. After finishing your 5.6km effort, the nearby Herne Hill area provides plenty of artisan cafes for a well-earned post-run coffee.
