This 5.2km point-to-point blast along the North Cornwall coast is a true test for trail enthusiasts. Starting at the iconic Boscastle harbour bridge, you’ll tackle an undulating profile featuring 180m of ascent that feels much more significant thanks to the rugged, rocky terrain. The route demands nimble footwork, especially as you navigate the technical descents and sharp climbs through the dramatic Rocky Valley. While there are fleeting moments of soft grass underfoot, the path is predominantly wild trail—reliable trail shoes are a non-negotiable here to handle the uneven surfaces and potential for slick rock if the Cornish mists roll in.
Beyond the physical challenge, this stretch of coastline is steeped in myth and geological wonder. Running through Rocky Valley, you’ll pass near ancient rock carvings and the site of former labyrinths, with the sound of the Trevillet River crashing toward the sea. Boscastle itself is a rare surviving medieval fishing port, famous for its unique "S-shaped" harbour designed to protect ships from the fierce Atlantic swells. As you finish in Bossiney, you are just a stone's throw from the legendary birthplace of King Arthur at Tintagel, making this route feel like a sprint through the very pages of British folklore.
