You’ll begin with a deceptively easy, flat stretch along the base of the towering limestone cliffs of the Avon Gorge before facing the heart-pumping ascent of Nightingale Valley. With 137m of elevation gain concentrated in this climb, runners will transition from paved riverside paths to the technical, root-laden forest tracks of Leigh Woods. The descent provides a thrilling sweep through the canopy before returning to the river level for a fast, flat 4km finish that is perfect for opening up your stride and finding a rhythmic tempo back to the city.
