For more general information and to enter other events: runningeventsondemand.com This route can be started anywhere as long as it’s done anti-clockwise but the main start points are Glenridding/Patterdale and Pooley Bridge. Start at Pooley Bridge and you get the big climbs out of the way in the first half. There is an untimed section should you want to go down and up the steps to see Aira Force, an impressive waterfall. From there it’s easy running into Glenridding. Once you reach Glenridding you head out onto open fell and it can feel quite remote as you head along the more rocky shoreline through to Howtown. After a few small hills it’s then flatter for the last couple of kilometres into Pooley Bridge. If you love iconic routes around bodies of water, this has to be one to try. Run the route, earn your medal, and sit back with the unbeatable satisfaction of a job well done on this tough route. This course has sections above 500m.
