Lingmoor Fell - Blea Tarn - Langdale

Description

A tough start on a tarmac lane with some short steep sections. It's then on track through the wood at a steady gradient. Once out in the open the gradient steepens on the approach to CP 1. The path to the Lingmoor Fell summit now climbs and dips in a few places. It is then down to Blea Tarn on a steep path with technical sections, and then on a good path around the tarn. At the road the course goes straight across then starts to descend gently and first then steeply. It is now along the valley but expect undulations. The path is stony and rocky in places. The final run in is on tarmac with some climbs but predominantly downhill. This course has sections close to 500m. Weather conditions can change at short notice, so plan accordingly.
